MAYHEM To Use Euronymous Hologram On ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’ Tour

Yes, you read that correctly. Following previously used holograms of artists like Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur, and Ronnie James Dio, Mayhem has announced their own plans about this technological marvel.

Mayhem will be hitting the road this year (2017) to perform their classic début full length, ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas‘ in full. To mark the occasion, the group has teamed up with Eyellusion, who worked on the Ronnie James Dio hologram, to bring back Euronymous.

This will give fans who have never had the chance to see him in person an opportunity to somewhat do so. No word has been given yet on whether his image will be used for one song or the whole performance, but it’s sure to be a divisive decision among Mayhem fans.

Mayhem guitarist Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth was infamously slain in 1993, at the hands of Burzum mastermind and former bandmate, Varg Vikernes. Varg, who performed bass on the ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas‘ record, was given the maximum Norwegian prison sentence of 21 years. He was released from prison in 2009.
