Back in the early 1990s, then-Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera partnered with Fudge Tunnel’s Alex Newport in the project Nailbomb.

The band blended industrial metal and thrash into one abrasive effort and ultimately released one studio album and one live release through Roadrunner Records. The studio album, ‘Point Blank‘, was issued in March of 1994 and remains one of the most intriguing offerings in metal history.

Fresh off his run with brother Igor, playing the Sepultura classic album ‘Roots’ in its entirety, Max recently took to Facebook for a video announcement. In it, he reveals that he and his band Soulfly are planning to play the Nailbomb debut ‘Point Blank‘ in full on an upcoming tour.

Fuck yeah, Nailbomb, Point Blank…one of my favorite records of all time,” exclaims Cavalera in the video. “I’ll be playing the whole album for you guys.

While it won’t be a Nailbomb reunion, per se, this promises to be one of the more interesting concert presentations in the time ahead. Dates for the run have yet to be revealed. At present, only a handful of shows are publicly listed for Soulfly and it is not yet known if those shows will feature the Soulfly performance of Nailbomb’s ‘Point Break’ set up.

In the meantime, you can see what upcoming tour dates Soulfly do have planned on their Facebook page hereEarlier today on Soulfly’s Facebook page, Max went on video with an announcement:
