TOXIK To Release ‘Breaking Class’ EP In August; Song Streaming

Reactivated New York thrash metal legends Toxik have announced they will release a new EP this year. That effort, the 3-song “Breaking Class“, will be released on August 4th with a full-length album expected before the end of 2017. A new song from the EP, “Stand Up“, can be streamed below.

The Toxik of 2017 is not quite the same one that thrilled metalheads everywhere beginning back in the mid-1980s. Original guitarist Josh Christian is here along with recently returned earlier singer Charles Sabin (from the band’s second album, “Think This“). Toxik‘s 2015 South American tour saw the addition of drummer James DeMaria (ex-Generation Kill) who is still manning the kit. The latest addition to the band is bassist Shane Boulos, a veteran of the NY/NJ hardcore scene who has played in such bands as Slam One Down and Sicks Deep.

With that said though, 2017 is shaping up to be a hell of a  year for Toxik, with a new lineup, record, and European tour (including a return to the Dynamo Open Air festival). Josh adds: “We’re tighter than ever and I think we’re going to surprise people with the direction and intensity featured by the new lineup“.
