The shoegazey, atmospheric head melters Low Flying Hawks are back, featuring drummer Dale Crover (The Melvins) and bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle), alongside songwriters and multi-instrumentalists EHA and AAL.

Back with their new album for Magnetic Eye Records, “Genkaku“, the follow-up to their 2016 debut, ‘Kōfuku’.   It will be released on August 25th.

Produced and recorded by in-house Melvins studio guru Toshi Kasai, ‘Genkaku’ (Japanese for “hallucination” or illusion”) also features the Melvins frontman King Buzzo, who lends his unique vocals to the album’s massive lead track, “Smile,” as well as the exploratory “Space Wizard.”

Today, Riff Relevant is pleased to bring you the first of the two, “Smile“, streaming below via Soundcloud.

Check it out now, while you pre-order ‘Genkaku’ directly from Low Flying Hawk‘s Bandcamp page or from the Magnetic Eye Records store.  Either one!
