Bi-National thrash metal band Mindwars, one with members living in both Los Angeles, California, and Italy, recently sent some very welcomed news.

It contained some updates concerning the band itself, one about a label signing and the other about the band’s third studio album. Let’s get that good news right on out of the way now, shall we? We are stoked to report that Mindwars has just inked a deal with Dissonance Productions for the eventual release of their next studio effort, ‘Do Unto Others‘.

The album is expected to receive its release sometime in 2018. For those of you that may be residing under a rock somewhere and scratching your head asking where have you heard Mindwars before, allow me to bring you up to speed.

While it is true that Mindwars is a modern, fully active thrash band, it does have origins back to the late 1980s. It was at that time that a groundbreaking band named Holy Terror was blowing fans away with their music. That music was bestowed upon the planet via two landmark albums, ‘Terror And Submission’ and, yes, you guessed it… ‘Mind Wars’.

Fast forward some thirty-plus years when Holy Terror guitarist Mike Alvord re-acquainted with Italian drummer Roby Vitari (ex-Headcrasher, Jester Beast). The two had met many decades before and now fate had presented the pair an opportunity to work together. They soon recruited bassist Danny ‘P’ Pizzi and the rest, as they often say, is history.

Mindwars, the band, was born and went to work on honing their unique style of industrial-tinged thrash metal. One thing was quickly quite clear with the new band, that it was highly centered on aspects of elevated thinking for one’s self and casting off the chains of imprisonment that modern society uses to enslave the human will.

The first strike at the walls of confinement came via Mindwars 2014 début for Punishment 18 Records, ‘The Enemy Within’. It could be said that the album, while a fantastic record of forward-thinking lyrical themes and intensely relentless metal music, was just a primer for what was to come.

For what did come was their 2016 breakthrough, once again for Punishment 18 Records, ‘Sworn To Secrecy’. The album solidified all the fierceness of the first, but with more fluidity and resolve. Plus, any album that can boast having been mixed and mastered by none other than the legendary Bill Metoyer (yes, THAT Bill Metoyer who helmed classic albums from Sacred Reich, D.R.I., Slayer, Trouble, and more) is already a winner in my book.

Therefore, I have no doubt that the new partnership between Mindwars and Dissonance Productions will yield the next magnificent chapter of the Mindwars saga. Work on ‘Do Unto Others‘ is underway as I write this, so we will be bringing you info and updates as they become available.
