PHIL CAMPBELL & THE BASTARD SONS Drops “Ringleader” Lyric Video

After their well-received EP release this past year, Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons are preparing to release their full-length debut, ‘The Age of Absurdity’. It will drop via Nuclear Blast on January 26th and today’s track offering, “Ringleader“,  via the lyric video below is a scorcher.

The opening moments of the track are immediately identifiable as Campbell, carrying over the same riffing ethos from Motorhead to his new band. It’s a feel-good moment for Motorhead fans who are still pained by the loss of the band, but there are still some fresh twists here. Meanwhile, singer Neil Star (the only member of the band not in the Campbell family as the rest are Phil’s sons) adds a gritty, almost punk rock-like vocal.

Phil Campbell commented on the new album, saying:

Every part of the process was done in Wales, from the writing, to the recording and even the artwork! The album title The Age Of Absurdity was inspired by the crazy world we live in today. The world to me seems to be a bit of a theater show so the album artwork idea just seemed to fit so well with the whole concept and album title.

Pre-orders for ‘The Age of Absurdity’ are available now through the Nuclear Blast webstore and for digital orders, go here.
