A few weeks ago, Fu Manchu announced their twelfth studio album, ‘Clone Of The Universewas set for release on February 9th, via their own label At The Dojo Records. This is their first full-length in four years, but the band has existed for about 30 years, so four isn’t exactly a drought for Desert Rock’s royal sons. Unless you’re as Fu-parched as I am… (or you might just be baked).

The Foursome of Fuzz is also heading out on a massive tour trek across Europe and the United States. The band will be playing two album release shows in Southern California to kick things into gear, then hitting Europe in March and returning to the US in May.

The May dates in the U.S. were just confirmed to now include direct support from none other than Mos Generator. The Port Orchard, WA, heavy rock rulers recently finished up a hammering string of successful West Coast dates with Fu Manchu this past November.

Since then, many have been hopeful Fu Manchu would bring this same show pairing to the East Coast, and Mos Generator is also scheduling some headline dates to surround this Fu Manchu tour run and those dates should be confirmed soon

Below are the album details, along with Fu Manchu‘s new official lyric video for the title track “Clone Of The Universe” as well as all current tour dates with each show’s event/ticket link. We hear more dates are in the works, too…

‘Clone Of The Universe’ Tracklist:

01. Intelligent Worship
02. (I’ve Been) Hexed
03. Don’t Panic
04. Slower Than Light
05. Nowhere Left To Hide
06. Clone of the Universe
07. IL Mostro Atomico (Featuring Alex Lifeson of RUSH)

A main feature of the album is that last song “IL Mostro Atomico,” an 18+ minute track featuring a guest performance by Alex Lifeson, legendary guitarist and songwriter of the band Rush. Declared as heavier than anything they’ve attempted before, the song has four distinct sections, showing the band still breaks new ground after decades of pushing heavy rock’s boundaries.

“We are excited to get out and play this stuff, especially ‘Il Mostro Atomico,’ says founding guitarist, Scott Hill. “We think it’s some the strongest music we’ve ever done.  We really love the overall sound of the album and having Alex (Lifeson) play on it is just incredible.  It gives it that special validation for the idea that we had to try something like a side long song.”

This is no over-reaching claim. “IL Mostro Atomico” may be capable of sonically shifting slabs of granite. Recorded and produced by Fu Manchu and Jim Monroe at The Racket Room in Santa Ana, CA, with additional recording by Andrew Giacumakis at SUSSTUDIO in Simi Valley, CA; ‘Clone Of The Universe’ will be released worldwide for digital streaming, CD, and vinyl from At The Dojo Records.
