Riff Relevant has been keeping tabs (here) on the progress and release of ‘ReIdolized (The Soundtrack ToThe Crimson Idol)‘ from the legendary W.A.S.P. The release commemorates the 25th anniversary of the band’s classic conceptually presented cautionary take, ‘The Crimson Idol’.

In late 2017, W.A.S.P. wrapped up an extensive tour that celebrated that release, one that weaves a forewarning tale of excess and abuses. The story’s anti-hero, Jonathan Aaron Steele, is a musician that struggles to obtain fame and notoriety. He eventually does, and along with it comes all the stereotypical pitfalls of his supposed “success”.

ReIdolized (The Soundtrack To The Crimson Idol)‘ will finally be released in a re-recorded version of the album with four missing songs originally omitted from the 1993 (U.S.) version. This edition is the album as it was originally intended – together with ‘The Crimson Idol‘ movie on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Today, W.A.S.P. is premiering their new official video for the song “Chainsaw Charlie“. The album/DVD will be released worldwide on February 2nd, 2018, via Napalm Records.
