LETTERS FROM THE COLONY Issues “Galax” Video As ‘Vignette’ Debut Arrives

On February 16, Swedish progressive / extreme math metal unit Letters From The Colony will release its highly anticipated debut album, ‘Vignette‘, via Nuclear Blast Records. A new video for the opening track, “Galax“, can be seen below.

The album, which was mastered by Jens Bogren (Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Paradise Lost), clocks in at a length of over 55 minutes. That nearly one hour of music should yield high-intensity interest in one of extreme metal’s most promising acts.

I myself have been smitten with Letters From The Colony after I recently absorbed one of the ‘Vignette’ tracks, “Erasing Contrast“, by means of a visualizer. It, along with “Terminus“, are both included below also.

The band’s ability to navigate a tight rope of experimentation and masterful instrument manipulation is explosive to experience. They deliver highly complex songs full of unrestrained aggression and soaring progressive structures in the vein of Meshuggah, Opeth, and Gojira.

‘Vignette’ is now available for pre-order and you can get the physical editions of the new album here.

Letters From The Colony are:

Alexander Backlund – Vocals
Sebastian Svalland – Guitar
Johan Jönsegård – Guitar
Emil Östberg – Bass
Jonas Sköld – Drums

Tracklisting:

Galax
Erasing Contrast
The Final Warning
This Creature Will Haunt Us Forever
Cataclysm
