The Lafayette, Indiana sludge unit known as The Mound Builders are sharing news about a planned trio of 2018 releases.

Clearly, this will be a busy year for the Hoosier heavyweights – vocalist Jim Voelz,  guitarist Brian Boszor, drummer Jason “Dinger” Brookhart, and bassist Robert Ryan Strawsma. Let’s take a look at what lies ahead, shall we?

The first release is slated to arrive on Record Store Day 2018, April 21.It will be a re-release of the band’s out-of-print ‘Wabash War Machine’ album, featuring new artwork by Clayton Jarvis of Abom Designs.

It will also contain newly added content, in this case, the two newest songs from TMB, “Black Drink Ritual” and “Hashashin”, previously only available on the band’s 12″ split with Pale Horseman.

Second on the list, scheduled to drop Memorial Weekend (May 25th), will be the third installment of Failure Records And Tapes 7″ series ‘Split Hits The Fans‘.

This four-way split features a new, punked-out version of The Mound Builder‘s song “Sun God”, as well as new music from Midwest favorites The Lurking Corpses, Hailshot, and No Breaks. Pre-order [here].

Lastly, The Mound Builders will enter the studio next month to track the band’s first full-length in seven years, the self-titled ‘The Mound Builders’. It will contain eight new original songs, as only this band can craft them, and be released on Failure Records And Tapes.

For now, you can get all your musical needs met from The Mound Builders on their Bandcamp page. There will be further news to come on The Mound Builders and their planned releases above, along with upcoming touring news from them soon.

The band is confirmed for an appearance at the upcoming FireBreather Fest in Indianapolis in mid-April. Read more about the fest here.
