Back with a BONG! The U.K. psych-drone doomers will return with the mesmerizing ‘Thought And Existenceon May 4th, 2018 – via Ritual Productions.

On the new effort, which is the follow-up to 2015’s ‘We Are, We Were And We Will Have Been’,  BONG makes a transcendentally significant aural statement. It may be up to each individual listener to interpret exactly what that cosmically-rife comment is, though, as it surely differs from one person to the next.

The vehicle which provides the ride here, so to speak, are these two lengthy tracks, “The Golden Fields” and “Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius“. Together, they run almost forty minutes in playing time and ultimately possess a wavelength far outside the norm of most sonic explorers. For BONG, the crew upon this latest sojourn consists of David Terry (Bass, Vocals), Mike Smith (Drums), and Mike Vest (Guitars).

In fact, the title of this ticket is truly a fitting tagging, for sure, as this music fuels the imaginative pondering of our own ‘Thought And Existence‘. The resonant droning nature of this mystical music is nowhere near some of the blandly mundane noise that others emit. No, this possesses textural heights and depths, ebbs and flows augmented with aural outlets for existential escapism.

BONG’s ‘Thought And Existence‘ was recorded and engineered by Mark Wood at The Soundroom in Gateshead during September 2017.  It was then mixed and mastered at XL Recordings Studio in London during December 2017, courtesy of John Foyle (Bobby Womack, Sampha, Damon Albarn) and Adam Richardson (11PARANOIAS, Ramesses, Ancient Lights).
