SKELETONWITCH has revealed details of their sixth studio recording, titled ‘Devouring Radiant Light‘, and hitting stores on July 20th from Prosthetic Records.

Along with the title and release date comes the album artwork, tracklist, and a new song “Fen Of Shadows” from said record. Recording sessions for the effort took place with Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou behind the boards at his GodCity Studio in Salem, MA. Fredrik Nordström (Opeth, At The Gates) handled the mix.

Guitarist Scott Hedrick describes the new song as being “Skeletonwitch 2.0“. He further adds:

The song travels further down the rabbit hole with more elaborate arrangements, layers of wailing guitar, and strong dynamic shifts. It’s the most fully formed example of what this band has become.

Vocalist Adam Clemans comments that the song,

sets up the theme for the entire record. It’s of my belief that in times of turmoil and darkness, we as humans, learn the most about our true selves. If you look within, you will always find light, passion and dedication. To what exactly, is up to the individual. For us, it’s creating music together and as individuals.

Last month, the band revealed [HERE] that they had parted ways with drummer Dustin Boltjes and had recruited Jon Rice of Job For A Cowboy, etc. for the immediate future. That immediate future includes the inclusion of SKELETONWITCH, along with Pallbearer and Dust Bolt, as support for Obituary‘s upcoming North American tour [DETAILS].
