Former Suffocation guitarist Guy Marchais has announced he is selling his custom BC Rich Warlock guitar to help pay for his chemotherapy treatments.
Marchais was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in January and started his treatment plan the following month, and is currently going through chemotherapy.
The guitar, which was used in the recording of Suffocation’s 2006 self-titled album and live performances, is currently listed for $6,500. The sale is occurring at Reverb.com HERE.
Guy writes: “Sorry to have to say I am parting ways with my first custom signature model BC Rich warlock. This guitar comes with a hard-shell tour case. I’ve used it on hundreds of shows and live performances and in the music video ‘Abomination Reborn’ with the band Suffocation I also used it in the studio on the self-titled album Suffocation. I really hate to part ways with it but I’m going through chemotherapy and I need the money. Buyer pays shipping.”
A GoFundMe page [HERE] has been launched on Marchais’ behalf, to help assist in providing relief for his mounting medical bills. As of this posting, the crowdfunding effort has raised $18,000 of its $100,000 goal.
We wish Guy Marchais a speedy and full recovery.
