BOOKAKEE Shares ‘Ignominies’ Release Stream

From the northern realms of Québec, Canada comes the molten savagery of BOOKAKEE, or as some PR outlets have presented them: “Montreal’s answer to GWAR“.

Today, Friday, June 29th sees the Transcending Records release of the band’s ‘Ignominies‘ album, and Riff Relevant is sharing a stream of the recording. I must divulge that I’m not a big fan of costumed or “gimmicky” type bands (I come from the era when KISS ruled the world – the Seventies – so I’m admittedly biased, whatever) but BOOKAKEE do have something going on.

Throw your preconceived notions out the window, friends, because this is an instance where it is best to let the music do the talking. When it does, you’ll hear a dynamic anti-cacophony of tumultuous technical death metal. It is over-the-top and rife with unusual, non-traditional nuances that rampage across these tracks.

The mixing, mastering, and drum recording for ‘Ignominies‘ were all done by Cryptopsy’s Chris Donaldson at The Grid studio. Vocals, guitars, and bass were recorded by BOOKAKEE guitarist Simon Pierre Gagnon in his home studio; the band’s current roster is listed below.

Pre-order “Ignominies” now at THIS LOCATION.

BOOKAKEE is:
Philippe Langelier – Vocals
Simon Pierre Gagnon – Guitars
Jonathan David – Bass
JP Bouchard – Drums
