The Milwaukee mashers of post-hardcore affected aggro-sludge, and doom, KNAAVES, have returned with some exciting news.

Following on the heels of their February two-song ‘January‘ EP release – reviewed [HERE] – comes the title track’s official video. The story behind the scenes of the video is an interesting one, inspired by the sensationalized unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, an aspiring actress who was brutally murdered in Los Angeles in the 1940s.

The band – bassist Amanda Daniels, vocalist Andy Parmann, guitarist Jamie Kerwin, and drummer Antonio Ninham – recruited former bandmate Brian Radmond to contribute ideas and direct the video. Daniels recruited her sibling to play the role of the victim in the clip, while one of the detectives is played by Peter J. Woods, a revered noise artist in the Milwaukee scene. Check out the fantastic video below.

Also on the KNAAVES front, the Chicago-based extreme music label, Hivemind Records has agreed to do a limited edition cassette release of the band’s ‘January’ EP. Only 100 copies are being made available and pre-order has launched at THIS LOCATION.
