NOPES New “Immersion” Video From Upcoming ‘Stapler’ Album; Tour Dates

The Bay Area’s eclectic “weird core” stalwarts NOPES have dropped an unhinged new official video for their song “Immersion“.

The video is an off-kilter ode to mid-20th century no-budget sci-fi flicks while the song is the first single to arrive from the upcoming ‘Stapler‘ album from NOPES. It will arrive digitally via Magnetic Eye Records on July 27th.

The band will self-release the album on vinyl LP, in cooperation with their pals at Discontinuous Innovation at the same time, and then head out on tour in the Southwestern and Southern United States this October. Those dates are listed below.

The music of NOPES is quite like no other, it is heavily influenced by acts present during the hey-day of Greg Ginn’s SST Records. Dwelling on the fringes of the abstract aural underground, ‘Stapler‘ sees the continuation of chaotic punk-infused emissions NOPES has become known for. The new recording is the band’s follow-up to one LP (‘Never Heard Of It’) and two EPs (‘Nectar Of The Dogs’, ‘Fun Limbo’).
