New Haven, Connecticut’s INTERCOURSE originally landed on our radar back in October of 2017, via a Split release with N.C.’s The Asound [REVIEW].

In March, INTERCOURSE returned with their own full-length album, the intriguingly titled ‘Everything Is Pornography When You Have An Imagination‘, through Constant Disappointment Records / Eye Tape Records. Despite the band’s own claim that what they deliver aurally is “Music For Aliens Made By Mutants”, that falls somewhat short in preparing you for the actual experience of said “music”.

I suggest you hear it for yourself; “it” being 11 songs clocking in around the 24-minute mark. In truth, these songs are really more akin to salvos of angst-hardened, punk-injected, metallic noise rock, and sludge fury. Each explodes with intense, energized riffs accompanied by tempests of drums and vocals that spew disgust like bile.

There is quite a peevishness to such tracks as “Piles“, “Beyond Human“, or “Corricidin Is A Helluva Drug“. Their music is angry, their vocals sound agitated, and their lyrics are profanity-laced diatribes addressing the state of utter fuckedness our society slithers ever deeper into daily.

I particularly enjoyed the sonic smackdown of such batteries as “Naugatuck’s Alright If You Like Suboxone“, “Selling Fake Acid At Ozzfest“, “The Kids Are Alt-Right“, and “Too Fucked To Yiff“. A handful of these songs were part of last year’s split release, but damn, if it isn’t just fantastic to revisit them as part of these accessories after the fact here.

So, if you have 24-ish minutes to subject yourself to a searing assault of venomous noise, then, by all means, have at INTERCOURSE‘s ‘Everything Is Pornography When You Have An Imagination‘ streaming above, or over at Bandcamp [HERE].
