Prepare to get excited, as this week will see the arrival of the thirteenth studio album from singer and multi-instrumentalist, BRANT BJORK.
‘Mankind Woman‘ will be revealed to the public on Friday, September 14th from Heavy Psych Sounds Records, but you can go ahead and get gleeful. Riff Relevant is stoked to present a full album stream of the record ahead of its official release date.
For his latest album, Brant worked with a singular producer and co-writer, Bubba Dupree, best known for playing in Bjork’s Low Desert Punk Band, as well as his stint in a short-lived D.C. hardcore band Void. The pair pulled out all the stops, opting to fully explore myriad blues, funk, and jazz influences while melding them with the signature style and sound of stoner / desert rock that Bjork is so well-recognized for creating.
Some friends and the usual suspects show up on ‘Mankind Woman‘, including bassist Armand Secco Sabal, vocalist Sean Wheeler, and Brant’s earlier Kyuss bandmate, Nick Oliveri.
BRANT BJORK‘s ‘Mankind Woman‘ will be issued from Heavy Psych Sounds Records on Sept. 14th. It is streaming below and available to pre-order now at this LINK.
On a related note, Brant will embark upon a western North American tour in early October, followed by a European trek in November. You can find the dates of both live runs listed below the Soundcloud player.
Heavy Psych Sounds Records is also set to re-release the classic albums ‘Tres Dias‘ (Sept. 21st), as well as ‘Local Angel‘ (Sept. 28th) from BRANT BJORK‘s back catalog.
