L.A.’s neoclassical metal shred maniacs EXMORTUS announce a new EP, ‘Legions Of The Undead‘, will release on October 25th via their own Exmortus Music, in cooperation with M-Theory Audio.

Recorded earlier this year at Oakland’s Sharkbite Studios with producer Zack Ohren (Machine Head, Warbringer, Immolation), the EP features a Halloween / horror theme. It contains five songs, with two originals – “Swallow Your Soul” (official video below) and the title track – plus three covers of well-known instrumentals performed in the band’s uniquely matchless style.

Things really get interesting with the trio of reinterpretations, as EXMORTUS renders their versions of Danny Elfman‘s “Beetlejuice” theme, Bernard Hermann‘s iconic “Psycho Theme”, and 19th Century Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky‘s haunting “Night On Bald Mountain“.

The ‘Legions Of The Undead‘ EP marks the first official EXMORTUS recording with the current line-up of the band: founding guitarist and vocalist JadranConanGonzalez, guitarist Chase Becker (Warbringer), bassist Cody Nunez, and drummer Adrian Aguilar.

Today’s announcement detailing the ‘Legions Of The Undead‘ EP includes the TohaAHOTMashudi-designed album artwork and a new official video for the track “Swallow Your Soul“. The EP will be available on CD, digital, and limited edition, green slime-colored vinyl and is set to arrive from Exmortus Music / M-Theory Audio on October 25th. Pre-order is open now with various bundle options and individual formats.

The EXMORTUS connected news does not end there, as the band reveals they will join San Francisco’s HELL FIRE as support for the newly announced North American headline tour from the legendary DEATH ANGEL. The month-long trek will continue support of the band’s ninth full-length album, ‘Humanicide‘, which was released in May from Nuclear Blast Records.
