MOURN THE LIGHT Shares “Lost All Control” Video From Oxblood Forge Split

Connecticut’s MOURN THE LIGHT has made a rather nice mark on the underground music scene in the short two years since the band’s inception in early 2018.

The band’s oft times aggressive knack for crafting songs founded upon an alluring meld of heavy metal and doom is striking, to say the least. This quality was one of the many positives established about MOURN THE LIGHT by means of their 2018 ‘Weight Of The World‘ EP (reviewed HERE) and follow-up single release, “Carry The Flame“. Both were incredibly well-received and now, MOURN THE LIGHT have just returned earlier this month with a new collection of songs.

The band’s new, self-titled split release with fellow New England region metallers Oxblood Forge is finding immense favor. That recognition is sure to grow by leaps and bounds as MOURN THE LIGHT now unveil their official video for the single “Lost All Control“, and prepare to embark on their first-ever Canadian tour dates.

More on the mini-trek in a moment as the split from MOURN THE LIGHT and Oxblood Forge is out now and available in two different versions, each with a different cover. MOURN THE LIGHT‘s version also includes a bonus digital download of the band’s Candlemass cover, “Bewitched“, featuring a guest solo by Joey Concepcion (The Absence, Sanctuary). Another highlight is the inclusion of a piano version of the previously mentioned 2018 single “Carry The Flame“, featuring Sean Orc Adams (Orcumentary, Virus Of Ideals).

With a total of five tracks (six with M.T.L.‘s digital download bonus version), the split provides a grand introduction to the musical excellence of these two talented, passionate bands. Of course, the recording credits differ for each band, as each worked in the surroundings of their choice, separately from one another.

MOURN THE LIGHT recorded at Up Recording Studio in Seymour, Connecticut, with Simon Tuozzoli, who also mixed the songs. Mastering was handled by Rob Birkbeck at Project 7:06 Sound Services in Griswold, CT, while Jim Clegg created the album’s cover artwork. The inside artwork is by Eryka Fir, with the layout design from Charlie Platteborze.

Oxblood Forge recorded with Joel Hopkins at Red Devil Studios, with mixing from Glenn Smith at Amps vs. Ohms Studio and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East. Both bands’ portions of the split are available to stream here today and available to purchase at the following links:
