Emerging from the darkness of a collapsing nebula, RITUAL EARTH reverberates the electronic radiation of all things doom, space, and psychedelia.

Formed in year 2018, hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, RITUAL EARTH is a crew of veteran musicians from well known projects in the metal and punk scene of decades past, and deliver the sonic offerings which lend themselves to easy comparisons to the likes of Kyuss, Elder, and Pink Floyd… to name a few. 2018 also hailed the release of the band‘s three song demo, receiving incandescent reviews from critics, while impressing showgoers and musical contemporaries with their live performances regionally.

RITUAL EARTH return in 2020 with their full length debut, appropriately entitled ‘MMXX‘, and shows these gents traveling further than their previous offering, pushing boundaries while remaining true to their original mission… Manipulating auditory elements to deliver a soundscape that coalesces with the listener’s projections and expansion of consciousness. Seven charged, dystopian transmissions set to the pulse of the dying universe to come. While headphones may not be required, for optimal immersion, they are very much encouraged.

Today we have the first two singles from the upcoming album – “Solar Ecstasy” and “Reprisal / Nebulas Diabolos” – streaming via Bandcamp below. Each track is individually powerful in its own right, with an almost soothing melancholy feel underlying the heavy rock and thick psychedelics of space. There’s also a rather beautifully quiet sense of calm emanating from beneath the vocal tones, even though they are in no way quiet or calm in volume or range. Maybe it’s just my current wish for some form of respite to my ears, but what I’ve heard from this record thus far gives the impression that discernibly old souls are at work in these elegies… Take some time to listen for yourselves, it’ll be worth it.

The new sounds for ‘MMXX‘ were written and recorded by RITUAL EARTH, with keys and synths performed by Mark Boyce. The album was mixed and mastered by David Downham at Gradwell House Recording. Set for independent release on September 1st, 2020, ‘MMXX‘ is now available to pre-order on limited CD and digital download [link].
