The Sludgelord (currently operated by Aaron Pickford) has partnered with Dewar PR (owner Curtis Dewar), to begin releasing music through their new digital label – SLUDGELORD RECORDS.
In today’s music journalism realm, the term “supergroup” is as commonly brandied about as any other type of label or tag. It has not always been so either as there was a time when a supergroup was a rarity, something special and outside of the norm. The qualifications to meet this supergroup designation were simple too, be a band comprised of well-known, established musicians…and that was pretty much it. Swedish death metal legends Entombed‘s sophomore album, 1991’s “Clandestine“, is a highly revered, iconic landmark album. 25 years after its release, original band members Nicke Andersson, Uffe Cederlund and Alex Hellid teamed up for a unique concert at Malmö Live in Malmö, Sweden on November 12th, 2016. At that show, the pioneering work was played from beginning to end, from the opening “Living Dead” to the closing “Through The Collonades“. One of progressive rock’s most popular bands is the long running Spock’s Beard. Originally formed in Los Angeles and now active for over 25 years, the band has had some incredible musicians fill its roster over that quarter of a century. In 2016, every one of them assembled together at the annual Morsefest (derived from name of the band’s founding brothers, Neal and Alan Morse) in Nashville for one incredible event.
