Columbia, South Carolina’s Grüzer are on an ascending climb through the ranks of heavy music currently. The band’s 2016 release, the Let It Burn EP, was a successful slab of riff-driven sonic monstrosities that introduced a whole new group of fans to the band. THE ASOUND Astound All Part 2: Split 7″ w/ INTERCOURSE Review & Stream; The Asound To Play Steel & Stone Fest II

September 1st saw the issuing of the new 7″ Split featuring North Carolina’s The Asound and Connecticut’s Intercourse. Both bands contribute two tracks each for a total of four face-melting sonic assaults. On the release, each band’s tracks alternate with Intercourse providing tracks #1 and #3 and The Asound #2 and #4. For the purpose of this review, I will tackle each pair head-on. North Carolina’s The Asound are currently experiencing a mercurial rise within the heavy music underground. The band itself, Chad Wyrick (guitar, vocals), Michael Crump (drums) and Jon Cox (bass), have a string of split releases out and are currently working on a new album.
