The latest step in that process will be the imminent release of their upcoming four-song EP, ‘The Knockoff‘. Release details and information will be making the rounds soon.
Until then, I am here to give you the 411 on this energetic outing from guitarist and vocalist Tim Donlon, bassist Victoria Rothman, and drummer Xavier Martinez. Between The Rain formed in 2013 and are poised to make a resonating mark with this collection of tracks.
The music itself channels a powerful blend of amped-up angst, moments of melodic introspection, and poignant lyrical narrations. Tightly wound around fluid guitars, robust rhythms, and heartfelt vocals, each track provides intensity and emotion. Each song is dynamic and crafted with pop-like eloquence while emitting some oft-times volatile elements throughout as well.
Of these four cuts, “44“, “Ashes“, “Lunacy” and “Swamp City Saltmines“, the latter is pretty much my favorite selection. With that said, check out the incendiary song “44” below, a number inspired by one of the trio’s relative’s experiences in the military during wartime.
The band comments on “44“, saying:
“’44’ is the true account of a relative’s harrowing experience in World War II. It’s about keeping a clear head in the face of danger.”
Between The Rain‘s ‘The Knockoff‘ EP is due to be released before the end of 2017. Check it out now via the Soundcloud or Spotify embed here, or find them on Bandcamp.
