From the planetary home of globally wide Death Metal, Florida, comes Blood Of Angels and their imminent ‘Rise Of The Fallen Gods‘ EP. Expected to drop on April 21st, the three-song offering is a volatile blend of DM, melodic thrash and progressive metal. Featuring either present or past members of such acts as Foreshadow, Motograter, Leprosy, Denied ‘Til Death and more, Blood Of Angels seem poised for an all-out assault with the release.
The guys, Aaron Robinson (guitar), Michael Stuart (bass), Chris Iibucha (vocals) and Kevin Phillips (drums) seem more than able to create intensely multifaceted music that could easily draw comparisons to Dark Tranquility and a much deathlier Iron Maiden. Laden with intricate playing, originality and ample progressive tendencies, these three tracks are both impressive and energized. North Carolina sludge merchants Weedeater have unveiled their plans for a full-on North American tour this Spring. Several dates will see them joined by Primitive Man, as well as a string of dates with The Obsessed, Karma To Burn and Fatso Jetson.
Never ones to sit idle and rest upon their laurels, Texas’ heavy doom unit Doomstress are gearing up for some major touring actions soon. First, April will see the band unite with their DHU Records label mates Disenchanter for the ‘How The West Was Doomed‘ trek. The pair will lay waste to many locales within the western U.S. together, beginning April 4th in Colorado Springs, CO. The tour will culminate with an incredible one-off for Doomstress only on the àpropos 4/20 date in Austin. That tour-ending date will see them play along side The Shrine, Jex Thoth and Duel at The Barracuda.
The San Francisco-based doom trio Brume will release their full-length début ‘Rooster’ on DHU Records/Doom Stew Records in the months ahead. The heavily hallucinogenic music of members Susie McMullin (Vocals/Bass), Jordan Perkins-Lewis (Drums) and Jamie McCathie (Guitar) first surfaced on 2015’s Donkey EP.
The band returned to Sharkbite Studios to record ‘Rooster‘, this time with super producer Billy Anderson at the helm, for this six song/51 minute slab of an album. Roosterwill be available on CD, cassette and digitally on April 20th from Brume drummer Jordan Perkins-Lewis’s fledgling label, Doom Stew Records.
