Now, the moment that everyone has been waiting for, the September 7th release of the record via Tee Pee Records, has arrived. With its arrival comes the offering of a full audio stream of the album for your listening enjoyment.
I dare say that enjoy you, we… ALL shall too, as THE SKULL effectively destroys any possible notion that their existence is contingent upon any other band’s. What do I mean? THE SKULL is almost always linked in comparison to certain member’s previous bands and it is nigh time that ceases, in my opinion.
I don’t mean to say that recognition for the past should be ignored or discounted, only that THE SKULL is more than capably standing on their own merits at this point. ‘The Endless Road Turns Dark‘ should hammer that point home, too, as vocalist Eric Wagner, bassist Ron Holzner, drummer Brian Dixon, and guitarists Rob Wrong and Lothar Keller, have created a (yet another) massively significant record their second time out.
The spectrum of elements they meld here is monstrous, yet rife with riveting melodic qualities, psychedelic embellishments, and of course, grooves upon grooves. It all stands as a remarkable, cohesively constructed testament to the talent and creativity of this collective.
