GLACIAL TOMB S/T Release; Single Streaming (Khemmis Member Goes Death Metal)

Khemmis guitarist and vocalist Ben Hutcherson is spreading his leathery, blackened, bat-like, metaphorical musical wings in the side project, GLACIAL TOMB.

Unlike his main band’s signature sound, encapsulating melodic heaviness and soaring guitar acrobatics, the emissions from GLACIAL TOMB are nearly a one-eighty in musical equivalency. Here, downtuned, D-beat density with a very traditionally influenced take on death metal with blackened, post-hardcore elements are combined for maximum sonic obliteration.

October 26th will see a self-titled recording from GLACIAL TOMB arrive on CD, LP, and Digital formats from Gilead Media. The album was engineered, produced, and mastered by Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Scour, Khemmis) at Flatline Audio and features artwork by Nanda Dika of Violence Art.

Hutcherson had the following to say about the recording:

Years of loss, pain, and visceral disgust with this world allowed us to create these songs. This album was born of suffering, as each of us lost loved ones while writing this record — fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and partners. This album was also born of hope, a genuine belief that humankind’s capacities for both the light and the dark will allow us to cast aside the bonds of selfishness and greed or succumb to them and be forgotten by time, buried beneath the steel and concrete. In our minds, both are equally beautiful.

Speaking of decimating and beautiful, Riff Relevant is excited to bring you the first single to surface from GLACIAL TOMB‘s upcoming record, one titled “Breath Of Pestilence“. It is streaming below, while you can find pre-order for the S/T album available now at this LINK.
