Seattle, Washington’s CANDLEBOX were one of the biggest breakout acts of the early 1990s, one that successfully escaped the limitations of the grunge movement to become a multi-platinum / gold selling artist.

Their rise to rock fame began almost immediately after the release of their 1993 self-titled, début album for Maverick Records, the first successful act on the label at the time. The album launched such massive hit songs as “Far Behind”, “You”, and “Cover Me” while turning CANDLEBOX into a four-time platinum-selling band in mere months.

Now, a little over 25 years later, CANDLEBOX is going to give a whole new generation of fans the chance to experience the music of that stellar recording live. This week, the band announced a planned 2019 U.S. tour, where they will play the album in its entirety on select dates.

Kicking off February 10th at the Pageant in St. Louis, the band will perform several shows throughout spring and summer, hitting major markets along the way, including Detroit (The Fillmore – February 16th) and back-to-back performances in New York at The Paramount Theatre (April 26th) and Irving Plaza (April 27th). While tickets for the New York City shows are currently on sale, those for the remainder of the tour went on sale this past Friday, November 16th – find them HERE.

Singer Kevin Martin comments:

We can’t wait to get out there and bring our fans on this journey back in time with us. We love that our music still connects with audiences and affects them so many years later.

After the July 1993 release of the self-titled ‘Candlebox, the album went on to sell more than four million copies. It was certified four-times platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) and landed the band in the #7 spot on the Billboard Charts. The single “Far Behind” entered Billboard’s Top 20 charts the same month the album was released and would remain there for the next six months.

The official videos for “Far Behind” (streaming) and “You” were in constant rotation on MTV and became two of the most requested videos of 1993. The album itself is still revered as one of the quintessential ‘90s rock albums and CANDLEBOX went on to release five more studio follow-ups to it, the latest being 2016’s ‘Disappearing In Airports‘.

In addition to Kevin Martin, CANDLEBOX members include Adam Kury on bass, Brian Quinn on lead guitar, Island Styles on guitar, and Dave Krusen on drums. Find tour dates below this video.
