When a new band comes along that boasts having current members of Toxic Holocaust, Jasta, and Kingdom Of Sorrow in their lineup, it’s time to pay attention. See, that’s exactly what comprises the roster of the New Haven, Connecticut-based Kings And Liars.

The quartet of lead singer Paul Chasse, guitarist and vocalist Charlie Bellmore, bassist and vocalist Chris Beaudette, and drummer Nick Bellmore have just recently released their debut, the ‘Machines‘ EP.

It’s an appropriately titled effort too, for these industrious players have manufactured an amazingly fresh sound for their initial outing. Said to be the first of three EPs coming before year’s end, ‘Machines‘ produces a sound rooted in Grunge and modern Alternative Hard Rock. Both bluesy and full of groove-metal-infused swagger, the music here is fresh and possesses some major commercial appeal to it.

The four selections on sonic display here, “Burn To The Ground“, “Recently Departed“, “Angel Eyes” and “Machines“, are rife with massive riffs around which all else centers. They are bolstered with fluid, solidified rhythmic support and thunderous drum work. This is all offset with the soulful crooning that gets served up on each number, vocals flowing with range and emotion.

Fans of straightforward Heavy Rock should definitely enjoy this immensely, especially fans of such bands as Soundgarden, Black Water Rising, or Seemless. Kings And Liars‘ debut, the ‘Machines‘ EP, is out now but only a limited edition number of 100 handmade hard copies of it are available exclusively at Bandcamp.

Speaking of Bandcamp, check out the embedded stream of their new EP below along with Kings And Liars‘ Official Video for the cut “Recently Departed“. Residents of Maine can catch Kings And Liars live at Geno’s Rock Club on August 12th in Portland, alongside Devils Nite Out and Culling The Herd.
