Following its world premiere at Helsinki, Finland’s Night Visions Film Festival, The Mentors: Kings Of Sleaze Rockumentary” is now available on DVD from Dream Evil Pictures.

The feature-length documentary film explores the hyper-elevated legend of THE MENTORS, one of the most controversial rock bands to emerge from the 1970s. The band’s shock rock/punk AF existence ranks up there with such acts as Alice Cooper or GG Allin & The Murder Junkies in the historical annals of music.

Subjects of a long history riddled with false rumors and outrageous myths that only helped augment their fame and notoriety, THE MENTORS both inspired and offended masses worldwide.

Filmmaker April Jones captured and documents the band’s climb from the gutter to the heights of their notoriety for incessant shock and offense. Weaving together rare archival footage, tour coverage spots, and an intimate collection of interviews, THE MENTORS’ legacy is well explored. It all culminates in a conspiracy theory that involves former member Eldon Hoke, famously known as El Duce, and the death of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain.

Despite widespread controversy, I was able to dig deep to reveal who THE MENTORS really are,” says Jones. “Get ready to be rocked, shocked, and offended by yourself for laughing! This film removes the hoods and facade only to capture the truly intimate, hilarious, and surprising story of the undeniable Kings of Sleaze.

Interviews include THE MENTORS‘ own Stephen Broy and Eric Carlson, along with select members from GWARFANGTHE DWARVES, and others. The DVD is available for purchase now at THIS LOCATION.
