WHORES. Confirms First Australia Tour For Spring 2020

Article By: Leanne Ridgeway

Atlanta, Georgia’s noise rock dignitaries WHORES. have announced their first-ever majestic trek to the southerly continent of Australia.

After a special ‘Anniversary Banger’ appearance in Youngstown, Ohio in late March, the band will take off on tour. Starting the first week of April, a hefty trip across some 15 time zones and over 10,000 air miles, WHORES. will bring their beautifully coordinated chaos for a string of eight confirmed performances in various cities across Australia.

Formed in 2010, the trio has established itself as one of the more successful and motivated bands in the genre today. Through intensely cathartic live performances and the perfected aggressive tenacity present on their recordings, WHORES. has gained a fervent following that can do nothing but grow in the coming years.

The band is currently recording the follow-up to the venerated 2016 eOne Music release, ‘Gold.’ (streaming below). Prior to their signing with eOne, WHORES. output included two now-classic EPs. ‘Ruiner.’ released in 2011, put the band on the noise rock map and was followed up with the even-more popular ‘Clean.‘ in 2013.

Between these and ‘Gold.’ the band released a split with Rabbits of covers by The Cure [link] and contributed the song “Bloody Like the Day You Were Born” to the Amphetamine Reptile ‘Dope-Guns-‘N-Fucking in The Streets, Volume 13‘. In 2017, WHORES. also contributed the track “Flag Day” to Amphetamine Reptile’s ‘Bash ’17‘, alongside acts such as The Melvins, Mudhoney, Lydia Lunch, and Cherubs.

WHORES. will also participate in the upcoming Black Sabbath tribute album, ‘Vol. 4 Redux‘, from Magnetic Eye Records. WHORES. are included on the compilation alongside High On Fire’s Matt Pike, Zakk Sabbath, The Obsessed, Mos Generator’s Tony Reed, Bongzilla, and more. ‘Vol. 4 Redux‘ is due out in April 2020. Preorder is available now [HERE].

Prepare yourselves, Australians!

“We’re so excited to be touring in Australia finally!,” says guitarist and vocalist Christian Lembach. “We grew up listening to The Birthday Party and AC/DC religiously, so it’s been a dream of ours to get to Oz as a band. We can’t wait to see you all!”
