It may be hard to believe that Cleveland, Ohio’s FRAYLE only formed a short two years ago in 2017, yet in that time they have made one hell of an impression on a countless number of souls.

I am within that throng of admirers, having discovered FRAYLE for myself roughly a year or so ago. In mere days from now, FRAYLE will play Day 2 (Sunday) of the third annual DESCENDANTS OF CROM (co-sponsored by Riff Relevant). Things are set to take place at Cattivo’s on Saturday, September 21st, and Sunday, September 22nd… with a Pre-Gala event at Howlers on Friday, September 20th.

In the earliest days of their becoming, FRAYLE was the duo of vocalist Gwyn Strang and guitarist Sean Bilovecky. The pair served the very heart of darkness, inspiring the creation of music that is heavily doom-oriented and laden with atmospheric and psych nuances. When transmitted together in their melded state, amid layers of uniquely toned guitars and innovative rhythms, it makes for a haunting aural experience. It also provides the pedestal that presents the coup de grâce, Gwyn’s enthralling, ethereal pop-like vocals.

Yes, I said “pop”, and if you have not heard them for yourself, they fall somewhere between inflections of Morgan Lander (Kittie) and Juliana Hatfield, yet are something all their own. Airy and angelic, they are the Yin to the Yang of FRAYLE‘s music, the weighty juggernaut of sonic density that it is.

Now a full band rounded out by Pat Ginley (drums), Eric Mzik (bass), and Elliot Rosen (guitar) alongside Strang and Bilovecky, anyone seeing FRAYLE live possesses high expectations. With three official releases to their name – 2018’s ‘The White Witch‘ EP and “Witches” single, plus the recent ‘Dead Inside‘ 7″ released jointly from Aqualamb Records and Lay Bare RecordingsFRAYLE are easily a Must-See band for anyone at DESCENDANTS OF CROM III.

Tthis will occur at DESCENDANTS OF CROM in Pittsburgh this coming weekend. You are invited to join, of course, and below you will find all the information and other particulars about the event.
