Lifetime Shitlist.  That’s right.  Everybody has one, and everybody’s on one.  Mine could go on forever, but I’ll sum it up with this:  To whatever higher celestial power thought it was a good idea to take Mr. Lahey from us… Fuck off.   Continue reading “LIFETIME SHITLIST – ‘Slow March” Album Review & Stream, Photos at MD Doom Fest 2017″

(By Taylor Waring, Staff Writer, RiffRelevant.com)

Mothership’s ‘High Strangeness’, released by the one-and-only Ripple Music, is a mighty third effort from the Dallas, Texas trio.  Oscillating between moments of pure fuzzy groove and heavy rock explosions, the album bolsters itself upon an onslaught of thick, rich riffs and layers.   Continue reading “MOTHERSHIP ‘High Strangeness’ Album Review & Stream, Live Photos from Saint Vitus Bar 4/19 Show”

Iron Maiden has always been a phenomenal band.  This is not a debate, they simply are.  Granted, I have not personally listened to much after the ‘Powerslave release, but this is beside the point.  I was a child when I first heard them, first watched, jaw agape, their original ‘Run To The Hills music video on MTV.  I hadn’t had an opportunity to see them live, until now.   Continue reading “IRON MAIDEN – ‘The Book Of Souls Tour’ Live Photos & Show Review (Barclay Center, Brooklyn NY 7/21/2017)”

For the second time in less than a matter of weeks, I would see New Jersey rock band The Atomic Bitchwax live.  This time would be in Asheville, North Carolina as they, along with NYC’s Mirror Queen and AVL’s own Gutterhound, would bring the noise to The Mothlight venue.   Continue reading “THE ATOMIC BITCHWAX-MIRROR QUEEN-GUTTERHOUND Live At The Mothlight; Asheville, N.C.”

Review: AMORPHIS/SWALLOW THE SUN: Phenomenal Finns In Philly (By Guest Contributor Kira Schlechter)

When a band hasn’t toured the States in years, you likely won’t be disappointed when they finally make it back. Such was the case with Finnish melodic death metallers Amorphis, who finally brought their “Under The Red Cloud” tour here nearly two years after the album’s release.    Continue reading “Review: AMORPHIS/SWALLOW THE SUN: Phenomenal Finns In Philly (By Guest Contributor Kira Schlechter)”

OVERKILL/ NILE/ AMORPHIS/ SWALLOW THE SUN Grind Charlotte, N.C. To Ruins

In one of the most highly anticipated tour stops of the year, Monday, March 6th saw the arrival of the OverkillNileAmorphis and Swallow The Sun trek to The Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina. I know I was literally counting down the days for months now awaiting the date as I had not seen Overkill or Amorphis since the mid-1990’s and had never seen Nile or Swallow The Sun period.   Continue reading “OVERKILL/ NILE/ AMORPHIS/ SWALLOW THE SUN Grind Charlotte, N.C.
